Bring your lunch and hear the story of Redeemer Lutheran Church from Pastor Kelly Chatman. Fifteen years ago the neighborhood surrounding Redeemer saw open drug deals and few safe places where neighbors would gather. Redeemer opened a vacant popcorn shop as a safe out of school place for children to gather and learn. From this small step, Pastor Chatman will share how Redeemer Congregation and non-profit Redeemer Center for Life has grown to capture the imagination of a North Minneapolis neighborhood providing the services of block parties, attainable housing, health commons, community garden, bread oven and a retail bike and coffee shop.
